Legal Printing Frequently Asked Questions
for Vancouver Law Firms

General

What types of legal printing does CETTEC handle in Vancouver?

Our Printing Company provides legal document printing in Vancouver for law firms and corporate legal teams, including court materials, discoveries, records, binders and tabs, closing books, briefs, hearing books, and everyday office documents like letterhead, envelopes, and business cards.

Do you understand court and regulatory deadlines in BC?

Yes. We regularly support BC law firms with court, tribunal, and regulatory deadlines. When you place a legal printing order, we confirm your required date and time, including any filing or service deadlines, and schedule production around that.

Is there a minimum order size for legal printing?

There’s no strict minimum quantity, but there is a minimum charge per legal print job to cover setup and handling. We’re happy to quote multiple quantities so you can choose the most cost-effective option.

Files, Formats and Secure Submission

How should we send confidential legal files for printing?

For confidential or privileged matters, we recommend using our secure file upload powered by TitanFile. It encrypts your files and keeps data on Canadian servers. For less sensitive work, you can also send files by email or drop off a USB drive.

What file formats work best for legal document printing?

PDF is preferred for legal document printing. We also accept Word and other Office documents, as well as TIFF, JPG, and PNG files. If your files are not print-ready, we can prepare them for court-ready printing; in some cases, an additional prepress charge may apply, which we’ll confirm with you in advance.

Can you match our firm’s templates, covers and tab styles?

Yes. We can work directly from your existing firm templates for covers, spines and tabs. Once we’ve printed one matter for you, we can reuse the approved formats so future legal print jobs stay consistent.

Confidentiality, Security and Data Retention

How does CETTEC protect confidential and privileged information?

Our legal printing work follows strict confidentiality procedures, including secure digital intake, controlled access workstations, and discreet packaging. Misprints and waste sheets are shredded, and we never discuss your matters with third parties..

Do you keep our legal documents after the job is complete?

We do not keep your files longer than necessary to complete the job and handle any immediate follow-ups. After that, your production files are removed from our active systems unless you ask us to retain them for future work.

Turnaround Times and Rush Legal Printing

How fast can you complete a legal printing job in Vancouver?

Many legal print jobs are completed within 1–3 business days, depending on volume and complexity. We also offer same-day and rush options when capacity allows. Tell us your deadline when you request a quote, and we’ll confirm what is realistic.

Can you handle last-minute printing?

In many cases, yes. We regularly help firms with urgent court filings and hearing books. We’ll confirm the deadline, destination (process serving agent, counsel, or client) and any special instructions before you approve the job.

We specialize in time-sensitive and court-critical legal printing. To ensure certainty, accuracy, and on-time delivery, the following guidelines apply.

Standard Turnaround

  • Legal print orders are processed during regular business hours based on file readiness, page count, and finishing requirements.

  • Orders received during business hours are reviewed promptly and confirmed with an expected completion time.

Rush Legal Printing

  • Rush service is available for urgent legal matters requiring priority production.

  • Rush availability is subject to confirmation based on workload, file completeness, and finishing requirements.

  • Rush pricing applies and is confirmed at the time the order is accepted.

After-Hours, Weekend & Court-Critical Deadlines

  • We do not routinely monitor email outside regular business hours.

  • Requests received after hours, on weekends, or holidays are reviewed starting the next business day unless availability has been confirmed in advance.

  • For early-morning court deadlines (for example, 9:00 AM filings or departures), prior confirmation before close of business is required to ensure the deadline is met.

If a request is only received on the next business day, we may not be able to meet rush delivery requirements.

Our goal is to provide dependable, court-ready documents while setting clear expectations around timing and availability.

Delivery and Shipping for Legal Documents

Do you deliver legal documents to law firms and courts in Greater Vancouver?

Yes. We provide secure local delivery to law firms and related locations across the Greater Vancouver area, and we can deliver to courts or registries where permitted. We also ship to out-of-town offices using tracked couriers.

Do you ship legal documents outside Greater Vancouver?

Yes. We can ship printed legal documents to offices outside Greater Vancouver using trusted, tracked couriers. Shipping costs and timelines vary by destination and will be included in your estimate.

Is delivery included in the price?

Complimentary local delivery is available on orders over $100.00 (before tax) within our standard Greater Vancouver service area. Smaller orders or deliveries outside this area may include a delivery or courier charge, which we confirm in your legal printing quote.

Pricing, Payment and Law Firm Accounts

Can our law firm open a printing account with CETTEC?

Yes. Vancouver law firms and corporate legal departments can apply for a trade account. Once approved, you can place legal printing orders on account and invoice by matter number, file number or purchase order.

What payment methods do you accept for legal printing work?

We accept cheque, Interac e-Transfer, Interac Debit and major credit cards. For approved trade accounts, our standard terms are Net 30 days from the invoice date.

Do you charge for legal printing quotes?

No. Legal printing quotes are complimentary. For complex or high-volume matters, we may suggest a quick call to confirm details so the estimate reflects exactly what you need.

Quality, Errors and Reprints

What happens if there is a mistake in our printed legal documents?

We carefully review your files before printing, including checking for common quality issues such as low-resolution exhibits and comparing documents against the index for completeness. If we spot a concern, we’ll reach out to you before proceeding. If an error is caused by our production process or we haven’t followed your written instructions, we will either reprint the job at our cost—on an urgent basis where timing allows—or provide you with a refund. If the issue comes from the supplied files (such as typos, missing pages, or incomplete content), we’ll work with you on the best solution, but reprints in those cases may be chargeable.

How can we reduce the risk of errors before printing?

We recommend carefully reviewing the files you send us for page order, exhibit labels, tab names, and numbering before submitting them for printing. As part of our process, we also watch for anything that looks unclear or inconsistent—such as missing pages or out-of-sequence sections—and, where possible, we’ll flag these issues and contact you for clarification before we proceed with printing.

Billing Questions

Billing questions or disputes should be raised within 10 business days so we can resolve them quickly and fairly.
